Decreases Risk of Heart Disease

meditation-image-48In a study conducted at The Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee in collaboration with the Maharishi University’s Institute for Natural Medicine and Prevention, researchers discovered that regularly practicing Transcendental Meditation (TM) drastically reduced rates of heart disease and associated symptoms. The study trained participants in TM as a stress-reduction method in combination with patients’ normal heart care regimen. The findings indicated a 47% decrease in incidence of stroke, heart attack, and death in those who participated in the TM program. Researchers associated this drastic reduction with the meditation technique’s stress-reducing qualities, which has a positive correlation with the reduction of many types of cardiovascular events.
