Enhances Production of Antibodies

meditation-image-37A recent study at the University of Wisconsin reported several benefits of meditation, among which was the increased production of antibodies to fight the flu. Participants in the study received weekly meditation training in the workplace, and also practiced meditation at home for an hour each day. Along with a more robust production of antibodies against the flu vaccine, researchers also documented increased brain activity among meditating participants. One of the important aspects of the study is the fact that the level of intervention into participants’ lives was relatively minimum, suggesting that one need only alter their life slightly and practice meditation for a brief period in order to reap the rewards.
