Enhances Well-being in Patients with Chronic Heart Failure

meditation-image-47Researchers from the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts found that Tai Chi meditation has the potential to improve the well-being of patients with chronic heart failure. Participants in the study suffering from chronic heart conditions were trained in Tai Chi exercise, which improved their mind-body connection and also resulted in a boost in mood and overall quality of life. This type of low impact exercise that also draws on meditative techniques was found to condition participants’ confidence in their ability to participate in regular physical activity, decreasing stress levels and depressed mood.
